 A UNIQUE PLACE for lovers of the sea : a guest house between port and ocean, LE CORPS DE GARDE, in Saint-Martin-de-Ré. We went in the winter. The wind was blowing, it was cold. All the refined lights of the house charmed us. It was cozy and magical... an old-fashioned atmosphere, a bit of a fairy tale. The windows of the rooms are directly overlooking the marina.

 Want to taste ice cream ?
Try the perfumes Huitre-Caviar, Potato. No, I'm not kidding. We must at least taste them.
For my part, I like Bitter Orange - Ginger and Peach - Lavender. The ice cream of La Martinière is famous and developed by enthusiasts.

Unique place for pancakes

 The one I like is called CALAMITY JANE. Famous with its chicken breast, pepper marinade and chorizo. The one with the candied tomatoes is very successful too. The omelettes are very good ... There are people, be careful! Remember to book. We are on the port of Saint Martin de Ré, all the same ! Sarrasine has been around for more than 30 years. A longevity that is an example.

Unique place for its magical decor

 It's beautiful to see and it's refined on the plate ! The glass roof of more than 10 meters, made in Reims in the workshops of Gustave Eiffel, is worth the detour. The building dates from the beginning of the 20th century.
For the record, this rather unique place only became a restaurant in 1975; it was previously a mansion.

 The Corniche café is located in Port Neuf bay. A very beautiful perspective on the seafront with southern exposure.
From the city center, you can reach the café by crossing Cherruyer Park and Alcide d'Orbiny Park and then along the sea (about 25 minutes on foot). Everything is fresh and prepared with great taste. The service is fast.
